Happy Valentines Day! – Soul Journal Blog Party.

heart and birds

I was inspired by Misty Mawn’s Circle Garland and Susanna Gordon’s Hearts that I decided to make my own garland. Last night I punched a variety of little hearts, using scrapbooking papers and painted papers. (I even stabbed my thumb with the punch!) this morning I cut two little birds and then stictched them onto pink ribbon to finish the garland. The garland is now hanging in the window of our lounge room.

The good news for you is that I am making another one as a giveaway. Leave a comment here 0n this post before Monday and you will go in the draw for a bird and heart garland.

Here are the other bits and pieces I have been working on today.

Ken's Zentangle Heart

A Zentangled Heart for Ken for Valentines Day. I was making it for a giveaway, until he asked what it was for, so I wrapped it in brown paper and ribbon for him. I’ll get a frame for it next week.

  1. What a lovely idea to make a garland – I’d seen Misty Mawn’s circles but not the hearts – that’s gorgeous too…

And I love the way you’ve done your own version – very cool.

  2. You really have the Zentangle thing down. Your garland is fabulous. Now you can make some birds out of friendship paper. 🙂 Thanks for playing you are a dear one!

  3. I really like your zentangles. I still haven’t tried one, but am hoping that I can relax enough to do one soon.

I’d love to have that bird with heart as inspiration!

  4. happy valentines day! the garland turned out adorable
the zendoodles are coming along nicely too
aren’t they contagious little ditties…and if you let them
    they open the creative channels…
    🙂

  5. Thank You for coming to my blog and leaving a sweet note. I love your art, and framing will make them stand out so nice. Do come by when you get a moment, and now I will go look at some more of your art.
    Happy Valentines to you,
    I got Roses.

  6. I love what you have done with the birds. Although I posted for the party, I had a real life party (Princess Party for 18 year old) to host yesterday, so this morning, it’s me, my coffee and the quiet.

  7. Love your zentangle birdie with the pink/red heart!
I admit to being a slow turtle (hands hurt from typing after a while and I can only do so much..darn) as I unfold and comment on the wondrous and creative Valentine Partylist – but just wanted to let you know I was here and enjoyed your blog very much! Thank you for sharing – Happy World Friendship Week! Blessings LN

  8. I did not attend the V-day blog party but I am one of your soul Journal sisters, although I am not on as frequent as I’d like to be. Just wanted to say love the birdie with the purple heart. It’s lovely.
    have a nice day.
